Couldn't hold it last night

Post by wise1992 »

Hi everyone! I am new to the forum. Wanna share something that happened last night.
I usually drink a cup of herbal tea before bed, I watch some stuff on netflix and I'll go to sleep.
Last night I woke up in the middle of the night, my bladder was completely full. (Never happened before, I usually go to the bathroom before I fall asleep).
For some reason my flatmate was in the bathroom (we share the same bathroom), I could hear them there.
I was literally exploding when I remembered that I had a plastic bottle in my room bin.
I woke up in the morning with a full bottle and an empty bladder

Drinking something before bedtime and failing to pee before you fall asleep can produce that effect. :o If your bladder is super full and it wakes you up, immediate relief is needed, and a bottle may be the answer! A wide-mouth 64-ounce juice bottle with a screw cap makes a convenient urinal. I used to keep one under the seat of my car.

Thanks for sharing that. I'm now at a time of life where getting up at least a couple of times a night is normal. I'm thinking of using a container to spare repeat trips to the bathroom. :)

I know your situation. When I designed my new retirement home, the toilet is about ten steps from my bed.

I have a large plastic vessel, rather like a big measuring jug. I've put it inside a metal waste bin for added stability, and put it a couple of feet from my bed. I intend to bring it into use tonight and see how things go. The last time I used it was several years ago when staying in a B & B which wasn't en suite. It meant I could have a comfortable night - and a dry bed - without disturbing other guests. :)

It was like 0.75 liters~
And it was like half full, it wasn't very yellow (I prefer when it's yellow because it's smells better ah)

Well I've used the plastic container every night since 23rd and its much more convenient than going to the bathroom. Most nights I've ended up with it at least three quarters full, somewhere between 1.2 and 1.5 litres. Maybe I should invest in a bigger one! :)
