About 10 or so years ago I had some private swimming lessons to improve my front crawl to do some triathlons. The private lessons for adults were tagged onto the end of some group lessons for adults/kids and were at a private swimming pool in a gym. After my private lesson the sessions were finished.
There were two instructors, a middle aged lady who I had and a younger guy in his early 20’s. Occasionally he was asked to demonstrate some piece of technique etc, but he didn’t really ever instruct me, but we’d acknowledge each other.
After one lesson, I’d got out and headed into the changing rooms and decided to take a quick piss before getting changed. There was a 3 person metal trough urinal in the wet changing area so I was just walking up to that, when the younger guy came into the changing rooms and made a bee line straight for the trough.
He pulled his T-shirt off and quickly flopped his cock out of his shorts, then started pissing hard into the trough, but it just went on and on and on. He pissed out an absolute torrent for a good 90 seconds. I was at the sink washing my hands when he was finishing up. He came over to the sink, nodded at me and said “Man I needed that.”
Thinking about it, I guess he’d been in the water for 3-4 hours at that point and was probably gagging for a piss for the last hour, but couldn’t get out until the lessons were finished.

Hot! I recall a post years ago from a physical trainer who worked with clients for hours without a break, drinking water to maintain hydration and holding his pee, and then taking a 90 second piss when he was done. I think he considered his sphincter as one of the muscles that should be developed.

Apparently, it’s known that swimming or otherwise spending long periods of time in bodies of water can make you need to pee more. It’s called immersion diuresis:

In that case it’s no wonder your swimming instructor was running for the urinal after the lesson!

What I found interesting in the article was that the typical urine output can range from "three cups to three quarts". The author apparently travels in a large-bladdered world. From the many, many posts I've read where people reveal their bladder capacity, I'd put three cups as close to average, meaning there are many people who can hold less than that. And there are very few people who can hold three quarts!

I assume he'd been instructing from the side of the pool considering he was wearing a T-shirt and shorts.
I bet he wished he had been in his swimwear instructing in the water though. From what Def123 tells us about the state he must have been in, I don't think any principles about not peeing in the pool would have had much relevance.

He was always in the pool when I had my lessons, but I think he started out on pool side. He normally had a pair of loose shorts and t-shirt on top of his trunks, although he did peel these off a few times when he demo’d something to someone (so you could see clearly what he was doing etc)
