I'd love to know the backstory for this. The driver usually decides when and where they will stop, so this fellow had apparently chosen to hold a very full bladder until they reached these rest rooms. Confidence? Pride? Just for the challenge?

Probably that, yes, maybe combined with a disinclination to ask the others in the seat row to move out for him earlier and a misjudgment about how soon they'd be on the ground. Or maybe his bladder filled while he was asleep and the instruction to return to the seats and fasten seatbelts for landing was what woke him up.

Plus some airports require a very long taxi between some runways and the passenger terminals. I have not experienced the Polderbaan, but I recall being on a flight that taxied for over 8 km before taking off.

I suspect that this fellow enjoys holding his pee. He must have been aware that his bladder was full, yet he had a coffee in his hand that he was drinking. Perhaps the sudden urge was a surprise, but he doesn't look that distressed that he couldn't hold it and peed his pants. And he took the video and posted it!

I know many a Time these holding contest can be rather staged and then the people doing these end up giving up way before they are truly that desperate.
