Gas Station Letdown

Hello people, I’m new here and have a sighting of sorts to share.
The other day I was out with my mom and brother and we stopped at a gas station to get frozen drinks—or so we planned.
The previous night there had been a storm which knocked the power out, because of that the water treatment plant had lost power for just a few moments. So to prevent putting out polluted water, all establishments in the area had to turn off all their water for a period of time.
That meant that not only were their drink machines not working, but neither were their restrooms.
What this meant was my brother and I got a few brief glimpses of several men approaching the door (some in a hurry!) only to see “NO RESTROOMS” written on the door in bold letters and turn away in frustration.
My mom joked that these men had probably been holding it and were counting on using the bathroom in the gas station, only to end up let down. I wonder what many of these guys resorted to as their plan B! I suppose they could have simply gone into another nearby gas station or supermarket, but I imagine if any of them were on a long road trip and unfamiliar with the area he would be in trouble!
