Melbourne's Tram Drivers

There's so little to watch on TV (despite my alleged 200 channels), so some evenings I surf the web. My latest fascination is with Melbourne's extensive tram system, the largest in the world. There are excellent videos of the driver's view of complete routes, which may run to an hour and a half. Generally, at a terminus, there are portapotties, but what does a driver do when he has to go mid-route? Bus drivers might pull over to the curb in an emergency and run into a store or office, but the trams are right in the middle of the streets, and stopping one would not only interfere with traffic but also other trams. It appears that most tram drivers there are male, but still…...
I've exchanged a couple of messages with a driver/photographer, but I hardly think I can ask him about needing to pee mid-route. Perhaps Aussies are just hardy guys with iron bladders. What do you think?

I've imagined the same predicament with the nyc transit system. Some of the train routes are well over a hour and a half. My best guess is bottles nearby :)

At least the train drivers are in a booth. The tram drivers are out in the open, making bottles unlikely.

I think about this far more than I should when stuck on the train...
