How many people wet themselves per day?

An area to discuss sightings and other observations. No sexual references please, there is the Stronger Interests section for that.

How many people wet themselves per day?

Post by Bigdog »

I had a thought, that there is around 7 billion people in the world roughly. How many people will wet their selves per day, out of desperation rather than a medical condition?

Logic would dictate it would mainly be younger people and perhaps elderly too and those in the Middle Ages less likely?

There are around 23 million men between 25 and 29 in the U.S alone. If, let's say, 16 percent of them visit a bar, club or festival over the weekend that is then 3.6 million guys who will be dealing with a full weekend bladder. If 3 out of 10 of these guys wait until they are desperate to visit the restroom that's now about a million men who will have trouble waiting in a long line to pee. If 2 out of ever 10 bars, clubs or festivals have a mens room wait of 30 minutes or more that's now 200,000 guys caught very short, 30,000 of which are certifiable hunks.

I love that math! I suspect that the number of men caught very short on any given weekend is lower than 200,000, but it's definitely not zero. Surely, on any given Friday and Saturday night in the US, there are hundreds of men who go out to have a fun time, but find themselves frantically searching for a toilet only to end up having an accident in their pants in a public place.

Another group that has a high percent wetting pants out of desperation are the workers in factories etc of the third world countries. They may be required to work straight 12 hours with no toilet break. They sit or stand and do what they have been trained to do and when they can’t hold it any longer, they wet their pant..

It was the 1970’x when a federal law was based to outlaw this practice with OHSA I think is the acronym beng the agency that enforced this.

Intil the 170’s elementary school teachers in some states had no break of any kind all day and the principal often an football coach would not allow any kind of break all day. As I recall, I read an article which stated that 6% of elementary teachers wore diapers, at least on duty days.

For those who don’t know how it used to be a teacher in an elementary school. The students had a monning, noon and afternoon recesses. If the teacher was not on duty then the teacher could I take a break. Teachers were required to take their class to lunch, eat with them, and take them back to then classrooms.

On rainy days, the entire faculty had no rest restroom break all day. She schools were in very rural areas. There were no music, art, etc for the students to go to and give home room teachers a planning break as well as a rest room break. I hose days these most rural schools did not have music, art etc by specialist teachers once a day, so even tht break was not there.

The problem was some mean principal would not allow one teacher at a time take a break while the other teachers watched the story dents The principals were that mean.

I remember reading this article, uu some of the details I don’t remember.

In the assembly lines there are many people with each person having a particular job. So if one person went to the toilet, the entire production shut down. Back then, often it was work 4 hours straight with no kind of break, 30 minute lunch break and then 4 more hours straight.

With this set up, there are gong to be accidents.

Glad this is now illegal in the US, it is still standard practice in developing nations.

While these work conditions there are many to wet pants because they are desperate, I doubt many here would find that to be arousing. This is almost slave labor,

Delivery companies like UPS and Fedex now track their vehicles and some even have cameras in the trucks, so every minute of their employees is observed. Some drivers have complained that they have too many deliveries and are given bad reviews if they take a rest room break, so (at least the males) resort to peeing in bottles. There are similar complaints from Amazon warehouse workers, and their pee bottles are found in dark corners. This is forbidden by OSHA, but they have too few inspectors, and some are doubtless paid to ignore these conditions.

It’s for reasons like this that I believe we are fast approaching a major change in society. Companies have lorded over their employees for too long despite them being their biggest asset. If I ever get into politics the first thing I am going to do is abolish the term ‘human resources’. We are all far more than a resource. Anyway that’s my political opinions erupted and settled again 😂

I agree with you Dazza. Let's see the tables turned for once. Those directors of Amazon and the like should feel the pressure for a change. As far as I'm concerned they can piss themselves in their board meetings.

I enjoy wondering about things like this, to be honest.

I think the reality is that the average person has accidents more often than they admit. There's a few factors to it and the list could probably go on for eternity the more you think about it, but the immediate things that come to my mind are:
  • 8bn people on the planet
Each person uses the toilet 3-4 times per day (on average)
Occasionally we all have days were our bladder is more active
We all get caught short from time to time
Even at 3-4 times a day, we 'make it' every day for 365 days a year without fail - is that really a realistic expectation?
Surely the odd one will end in a one-off from time-to-time. It seems logical.

This doesn't even consider other factors like:
1. seeing men peeing in public (usually to prevent an imminent accident but not always)
2. transport obstacles and getting stuck in traffic or long bus & train rides
3. having an occupation were toilet access any time you need isn't guaranteed
4. working in countries and companies that either don't follow laws or simply don't have them or even human rights
5. public toilets being closed either indefinitely or just temporarily for cleaning
6. holding until breaking point out of convenience / knowing you have toilets nearby to use whenever you want, only to find them closed when you get that final call to stop holding and go now...

Like I say, it can become quite the rabbit hole if you think long enough.

WindowsXP: I think the average man uses the toilet 4 to 6 times a day. Incidentally, I read a study that showed that even if women have a bladder capacity equal to men, they urinate more frequently than men. The average man holds it longer.

Your "other factor" #6 excites me the most: "holding until breaking point out of convenience / knowing you have toilets nearby to use whenever you want, only to find them closed when you get that final call to stop holding and go now..." I've observed that many times over the years, though not often to the point of wetting. More often I've seen them make a dash for the toilet - or the trees - because they chose to hold to the limit. Perhaps they hold out of convenience, but also because of macho pride or for the sensations in holding or pissing out a massive amount. ;-)
