Lads Pissing

There's a thread about holding during movies, but at the cinema you always do have the option of leaving to go to the restroom. That's not always the case at plays or classical concerts. I've been at a play (a relatively small theater and local theater troop) and to a performance of Handel's Messiah where the programs noted (in all caps): "THE AUDIENCE IS REQUESTED REMAIN SEATED UNTIL INTERMISSION" At neither event did I have to go-- I had the great good sense not to do dinner and drinks until afterward. But it was noticeable that there were a few others, including my companion at the Messiah, who were, discretely as possible, squirming and crossing their legs. A friend who attended a Broadway play told me how he had made the mistake of getting half drunk first ended up hella-desperate during the play (it was Moulin Rouge) and was starting to leak in his pants in the long line for the restroom during intermission.
Anyone here experience desperation, maybe wetting, at a performance where you were enjoined to remain in your seat, or seen some other guy who was bursting and maybe didn't last?

I heard about an incident at third hand once. A friend of my partner told my partner that he'd been in a classical music concert where you couldn't leave in the middle of the performance, and the friend had been sitting near a guy who was obviously "dying to go to the toilet" and "ended up wetting his pants". That's all I heard.

I did myself see what was possibly some desperation in another classical music concert a few years ago. We were seated in the tight front row of the balcony above the proceedings, and you really couldn't get up and work your way through the crowds during the performance. (It was hard enough getting in an out at the start and end, let alone during the performance while everyone else was seated.) A couple of guys in their twenties were sitting near us, and I thought one of them really needed a piss during the performance - all the usual signs were there, the anxious expression, crossed legs and subtle movement. He held it till the interval, and I'm not sure how close he came to losing it.
