Stags!!
Just back from a wee trip to the Netherlands, thought you might like to hear about a funny scene I managed to see there.
Amsterdam is a hugely popular destination for UK stag parties, so Thursday to Sunday you're never too far from a gang of five to twenty men in various outfits/uniforms/printed shirts, usually with one poor sod in an even more outlandish outfit (often drag!). Theses gentlemen have been drinking beer for a number of hours or days, which has the happy (for me) effect of rapidly filling their bladders, and lowering know any inhibitions about whipping it out and pissing in public. I've lost count of the number of straight men I shared a piss with, either on the streets, or more often in the canals.
But one particular (final) sighting really made me laugh.
I'd already got to Central Station, ready to get a train to the airport, but this doozy of a stag party were stood outside it. I think there were 18 of them. All aged 20-30. The gang were dressed normally, but the groom was wearing a weird golden patterned/Chinese suit. He also had a gold hat, and gold shoes.
His hands were enclosed in gold boxing gloves, taped onto his sleeves with gold tape, and a pint glass taped into the right hand glove.
I thought this lot looked interesting (dunno how they got so drunk by 2:00!), and as I was running ahead of time I thought I'd follow them and check them out - you don't get that drunk without needing a piss soon!
I stayed near the stag, and heard him saying to his pal that he would need a piss soon, and was worried how he'd do it! The mate begged him not to piss in the canal, and he didn't.
Five minutes away from the station they came to the pub/hostel that they were staying in, one went to the hostel to check them in, everyone else went straight in the pub.
The (presumably) groom, in the gold boxing gloves tried to go downstairs to the toilets, but had a horrible fall on the stairs! Luckily wasn't hurt, and carried on to the bogs.
Of which there were four - two and two on angled walls.
I ended up next to stag, who, of corse, couldn't get his pants down with boxing gloves on!
So he had to beg for someone to pull his trousers down. I thought that as there were two of his pals there I should let them do it, which one finally did, so then he was stood next to me, pants round his ankles, pissing for England no handed!!
It was great, would have spent more time with these lads, but I had a plane to catch, do had to give them a slap on the back and bid them goodbye!
But was a good little interlude for me!!
Nice stag in Amsterdam!!

Re: Nice stag in Amsterdam!!
Wow, to think that happened almost in my back yard and I wasn't there to see the drama with you!
I can't help wondering if whoever designed the groom's costume for his stag party gave any thought to how he would relieve himself. I guess the answer must be either "yes, and they were looking forward to the resulting fun", or "no, they were too naïve to think of such practicalities when the beer is likely to flow".
Great account, Sean. Wish I'd been there. Thank you for posting.

The costume designer was surely more diabolical than naive! At least the fellow only needed to have his trousers lowered and no one had to actually "lend a hand".Brian wrote:Wow, to think that happened almost in my back yard and I wasn't there to see the drama with you!

Lovely viewing. I'm jealous.
