Your idea is a good one. There are at least two of us right now working like frenzy to get the old forum backed up. Let's just wait a couple of days until we've done that - if it stays up long enough of course!! - and then we'll put a notice on the old forum.
I went and frantically saved Prince Harold since I've lost my old copy and thought it was gone forever! Fred, if you read this, it's still my favourite ever!
And yeah, let's do it like you said. I didn't want to post myself without asking
Looking back at the old board does make me realise that I've spend quite a few years with you guys already, here's to many more
(Ty, can we have more Smilies? Not really important but if it's possible and you're ever bored? I miss junior *hops up and down*)
The header says 'ladspissing.com' and has been like that for a long time. However, if you actually go to that link you come here.
I'm using a 'print to PDF' program and printing the pages into the PDF containers. I've also changed the thread lengths to hold more posts per page, to manage that.
I'm getting there but I'm only 2 pages in to the advanced stories. If you see them slowly vanishing it is because once backed up I'm moving them to a folder called 'Jan17' or something on the forum. Once I've done it all, everything can go back to where it was but it helps with my side of the housekeeping.
Once it is done I can mark the forum read-only or something. It's one of those things. We can't transpose the messages across to the new one as the software there is so old and we can't backup formerly. My software isn't working as it should either. Which is a nuicance.
I will also try and backup the users and their profiles that I can see, but if you have any PMs there, it is up to you to access and back up as I have no way to do that.
I would advise ALL to go there and check on your stories, backing up your own work.
I have a virtual printer installed on my computer so I can print to PDF which is a sealed way to save documents.
Please, backup your work
I am trying where I can but once the forum has been backed up then it will be formerly shut down...
I just found this site from that forum. I still have the original Word documents for the stories I posted there (and I have also posted them in several other places). Should I repost them on this forum?

Glad the re-appearance of the old forum has enabled you to find us again. Welcome back!
A few points to bear in mind when posting your work here - which, generally speaking, is very welcome:
On-topic stories are welcome here. Do note, of course, that we are a discussion forum and our readers are human, so a one-at-a-time approach is the best rather than posting everything in one go. That way readers will have a chance to read everything and post appreciative comments.
Just like on the old forum, everyone starts in a section which is open to all, including unregistered guests, namely this section. No sexual references are permitted here. Members who demonstrate some commitment to the board (by repeatedly posting on-topic and interesting material) are given access to a more private area called Stronger Interests where some mild sexual references are permitted. Therefore please check that your work is suitable - i.e. no sex - before posting it here and if it isn't then earn yourself the promotion first so that you can post in the private area.
While the old forum is up you could send a PM to Tytn, Fred or myself there (I'm Brian-E there, Tytn and Fred kept their exact names) mentioning the name you have registered under on the new site. That would identify you, assure us that no plagiarism is being committed, and might also help in any decision to give you a fast-track promotion.

Hope you enjoy the new site.
I've kept the same name as I had in the old forum. I only posted two stories there. Probably the milder one was "Miss McMillan's MIlkshake Parlour". Have you read that, and if so, do you think it would be suitable for the open section, or should I wait until I have access to Stronger Interests to post it?
