The subtle and the obvious

I only happened to stumble across this forum by accident today but have certainly been fascinated reading a lot of the posts here.

Desperation has interested me for a long time and a lot of the stories here show me that other guys feel similarly. For me, though, a lot of the really extreme shows of desperation that are seen in online videos are petty unconvincing and I think, when you have been interested in real male desperation for a long time you realise the signs are nearly always much more subtle, especially if the guy is trying to not let others notice, which of course is how it is for most guys. But after a while you get to notice those subtle signs and they become so familiar and recognisable that they seem obvious to anyone who knows them.

These are signs like squirming that might seem quite minor but is nevertheless really intense, or the furtive clutching, the distracted looks around, the inability to really totally concentrate on what others might be saying, the occasional scissors movements of the legs when a guy is sitting, or the difficulty in standing still when he is standing, but rarely the really full-on dancing, which is just too obvious. I have seen this more subtle, but still very intense, desperation a lot, and I especially know to look for it in places where I have noticed a guy looking for a toilet, maybe finding it and it is locked, or just sometimes in places where there has been none of this but you are conscious of the signs but also that it is not easy for the guy to excuse himself, or that there's not anywhere obvious for him to go. Sometimes this all gets reinforced when I see or hear a guy who I have been near for a while, and then he does go to the toilet and the intensity of his peeing is really major, and I find myself thinking back to the lead up to that and to how he was trying not to be noticed.

There are many experiences seeing this that I hope to share here. I certainly like reading what others say and have said here about this sort of things, or about their sightings of it. It's a great forum.

This aspect, the subtlety of being desperate to pee when the guy is trying not to show it, has always fascinated me too. But until your great first posting, I don't think it's been described very much here or on our previous boards before.

I know I always try to hide it from other people if I'm desperate. I'm not quite sure why I do that, except that I know it's pretty embarrassing to really need a pee and I don't want people to know I do. There's also the factor that I don't want to burden other people with the problem.

Your description of the physical signs that a guy is desperate is really interesting. I guess most of us will recognise those signs because we look out for them!

The vast majority of men try not to make their urgency obvious. As noted, their squirms and leg movements and squeezes are subtle, any dance is just a small, repetitive step, and it only becomes overt when they are trying to make a joke of it. One of my pet peeves with almost all the staged "desperation" videos on the Internet is that they are so grossly overacted that they cannot possibly be genuine. I do, however, value the rare candid clips of true desperation.

I could go on about this topic forever, because it has been such a huge draw-card to me for so long. Reading some of the stories, and seeing some of the videos here where the guys are not wanting to admit what is going on and, in the videos where someone has thought to film it, has kept me browsing here for hours. Two of the videos in particular are completely amazing for me - both where there is a bit of speculation because the guy is not saying anything about his desperation but, I guess through knowing the signs so well, I really have no doubt at all. (One is near the top of that section, showing a guy waiting at a bus stop, the other near the end, showing two guys playing beer pingpong).

The Caleb stories in the Open Stories section are similarly powerful for me.

I have seen this sort of thing often and the power it has over me is sometimes almost indescribable, and discussing it, especially in detail, can be very, very intense. I love the way some of these guys get so desperate that they tend to lose sight a bit of what is obvious to others. They are still being quite subtle, trying to be quite controlled, but it is very noticeable anyway. And for me, the very small wet spots that I have sometimes seen leak out are even more fascinating than when a guy totally lets go. Again it's all part of the barely disguised subtlety of really intense desperation, amnd sometimes the likelihood of those small leaks happeningis so much greater when the guy is trying to hide how he is feeling.
